The tables at the reception had silvery sparkles and wonderful flower arrangements, and the bride and groom table sat in front of an arrangement of red and white roses with ivy strung along an arch. She picked out tea light place card holders in the shape of silver doves that made the tables shine even more. The small jewelry boxes each woman at the wedding got as a favor had crystals and flowers beautifully interwoven in their design. For the men in attendance, a key chain with a frog prince on it was given to them as a wedding favor. The wooden, silver-plated, affordable jewelry boxes that each of the bridesmaids received had a black velvet lining. The date of the wedding and name of the happy couple were inscribed in the boxes. The bridesmaids were very appreciative of what my daughter gave them as a thank you gift. The jewelry box she got them looked very nice, but it was in fact a cheap jewelry box and I had one like it myself for a long time. The men each got a commemorative inscription in a small plaque and a set of wine related gifts. I thought that was pretty unique for a thank you gift.
The three-layered wedding cake they had was topped in debounair fashion with a small castle as the wedding cake topper. She even found a cake knife set that matched up with her storybook theme and champagne flutes to go with it. The amount of money she saved was staggering considering that she didn’t skimp on quality. They were firm about the fact that they did not want us to cover the bills from the wedding even though, as parents of the bride, we made it clear to them that we expected to pay for everything.
I felt the warm tears flow down my face as the two of them gracefully floated around the floor for their first dance. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. Everything turned out perfect and my little girl got the kind of wedding and reception she always dreamed of. Now they are on a honeymoon she’s always dreamed of. I can hardly wait for them to get back and tell me all about the fantastic sights they saw.

They had it all, winter themed champagne glasses and serving set and a funny winter wedding cake topper too. I asked the baker to turn our top layer of the wedding cake into a ski slope, since the topper I picked was of a bride and groom on skis. I had many pictures of our wedding cake taken for my winter themed wedding picture album, it was so adorable. After we cut the cake and had our toast done by my super brother in law, it was time for our bride and groom dance. I really felt like a princess in some kind of dream world while we glided across the floor, with everyone watching.
This reception was perfect, from the beginning to the end and all of our guests truly seemed to be enjoying themselves. The men in our wedding party really liked the wedding groomsmen gifts we had for them and my bridesmaids thanked me for theirs too. Some of our friends and family expressed how much they really liked the thank you gifts they received and told us what a spectacular wedding and reception we had.

He came home from the party with an inflatable doll and a ball and chain that he said they made him wear the whole time the party was going on. The guys had other funny groom bride gifts they gave him, to ad to the merriment of his bachelor party. My girls night out party was fantastic too and I got a lot of gag gifts, but also quite a few nice bride gifts too. They gave me a shimmering white satin purse with a clasp made of crystal on it and a ribbon on top to boot. Inside the bag they had put little gifts like a manicure set, a girls night out tee shirt, a bride to be brooch and a few little necessities a girl likes to have with her. But I think my favorite little novelty bride gift was a throw pillow that said ‘tonight’ on one side, and ‘not tonight’ on the other. What a crazy present that was, and I know I’ll have a lot of fun using that .
On the other hand, the bride and groom wedding gifts we got the reception were all more serious. We thought we might get some duplicate gifts, and we did, like a few blenders and a couple more toaster ovens than we really need, but that’s to be expected at such a large ceremony. We filled out a bridal registry and we received a food processor and china from that, along with some other things I had written down. My mother- and father-in-law gave us a bar side set and a pool table, and my husband thought it was absolutely wonderful, and has already planned a get together with the guys. The plane tickets to get to the Greek Isles for our honeymoon came from my folks. We received a lot of wonderful gifts on our wedding day from our loving families and fantastic friends.
Having all our friends and family around us on this more than special day meant more to us than anything. We were able to spend our engagement party, wedding, and reception with them, and we are so glad about that. They have always been there for us no matter what, and I’m so glad we have so many wonderful friends and such a devoted family, in our lives. It also helps to have friends that care enough to throw you a wild night with a bachelor party or a mind trippin girls night out bash. There is never a dull moment in our lives with the super great friends we have. Thank you notes could never begin to express how much we appreciate their love and support.

Kids need bathtub toys, and Sesame Street’s Ernie even sang a song about one of the classics, a tune called ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One.’ It seemed like a longshot, but I checked to see if there were any baby shower duck favors available anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. They are really so cute and it was a lot better than I thought it would be with all the online shopping help I got for ideas. When you looked at it, you just wanted to say, ‘aww, how sweet.’ I also bought duck molds and filled them with yellow colored water for duck shaped ice cubes. I took my duck idea to great extremes.

Each guest got a chance to check out the board and see how many pictures they were able to match up with the faces of the other guests. The winner was the person who guessed right on the most of them, and they were awarded a shower favor.
